Getting My Act Together - Week 1

Just a quick note on my progress. Getting my act together has three parts:

1. Lose 10 pounds. This first week I lost 2.4 pounds, 7.6 to go.

2. Run 50 miles a week. I ran 54.6 miles.

3. Speed work once a week. I ran 12 x 1/4 mile intervals on the treadmill.

So far, so good :)

I may have a bit of a set back this week when I go to Vegas. We'll see.

Speed gambling may be considered a replacement for speed work!

Let's see how I compare:
1) Didn't lose a thing (the brie and fried stuff might have had something to do with that.

2) I ran 4 miles this week. WOOT!

3) I do hills instead of speed. You know my motto: slow is the new fast.

Can I make a suggestion about Vegas? Parking garages. They're shady, they're hilly, and they make for awesome hill repeats. Have a great week!
